Dao Vien craft village before 1954 was a prosperous economic place, trading with areas such as Hanoi, Hai Phong, Hai Duong, Nam Dinh... Artisans from Dao Vien like Do Van Hieu, Do Van Sui, Ngo Thi Dam cast a statue of Dai Di Da at Ngu Xa Pagoda, 10m high, weighing 17 tons. Cuu Chinh cast 3 large statues at Ham Long Pagoda, which are still preserved today.

In the village, there are still 2 statues of the village Thanh Hoang, 2 large bells of about 200 kg, and other worship items in communal houses and pagodas created by artisans of the village. of the bronze casting village of Dao Vien with generations of artisans famous for their talent in solid bronze casting.

After two wars, the craft village stagnated until early 2000 to recover. With the influence of the elderly, many artisans who have traveled far from their hometown now returned to contribute and teach young generations to reopen traditional foundries. But the revival was only sporadic as it struggled due to difficulties in capital, skilled labor and consumption markets. Nowadays, most of the households that still have foundry furnaces work for hire according to the number of orders placed in advance. Dao Vien village still has its reputation till now with products reaching consumers in Hanoi, Hai Phong, Nam Dinh, Hung Yen....
